Teboho Moja
Dr. Teboho Moja is a professor of higher education at New York University (NYU) and has been a policy analyst with a focus on the South African higher education system.
The late Nelson Mandela appointed her Executive Director and Commissioner to the National Commission on Higher Education, and she has served as Special Advisor to two Ministers of Education in South Africa. In addition, Teboho was a board member of the International Institute of Education Planning (IIEP) in Paris and was a founding member and President of the Union of Democratic University Staff Associations (UDUSA).
She has published extensively on higher education in South Africa and served on the UNESCO Scientific Committee for Africa. In 2019 she received the National Research Foundation (NRF) Lifetime Achiever Award and in 2021 she was awarded an honorary doctoral degree by the University of Pretoria. Teboho has held visiting professorships at the University of Oslo, Tampere University, Hong King University, University of Pretoria, University of the Western Cape, and University of Johannesburg.
