Jonathan Joffe
Jonathan Joffe is a third generation Wits graduate: his grandmother Ethel was one of the first women to receive a BSC at the university in 1923. He completed a BA (economics) degree at Wits in the late 1970s, during which he served on the SRC.
This launched a decade of anti-apartheid activism, including the presidency of NUSAS and various leadership roles in the UDF. He later completed an LLB at Wits and practiced as a labor and human rights lawyer in the final days of apartheid.
Jonty came to the US to advance his legal studies in 1990 and completed a doctorate at Harvard Law School. He then joined global consulting firm Monitor (now Monitor Deloitte) where he became a partner, based out of Johannesburg, London and Boston.
He now runs his own business, QTec Analytics, providing strategic and financial support to fast growing technology companies, mainly in the fields of telemedicine and artificial intelligence. Jonty lives in Boston with his wife, Lisa, and three children.
