Mr David Jammy (Wits BA 1989 LLB 1996), Los Angeles. David is a film and television producer.
Before becoming a lawyer, as a student in South Africa, David was actively involved in the Anti-Apartheid movement and quickly learned the power of media to change the world. He was a co-founder of South African production house, Quizzical Pictures (with Harriet Gavshon), which has produced thousands of hours of award-winning television and is widely recognized as the country’s premier production house. Amongst Quizzical’s numerous accolades is a Rose D’Or Television Award for Best Drama Series (2010) and a Peabody Award (2011).
In the US David is a partner in the global production house Done+Dusted and has produced many high-profile events and television shows including the Emmys, the Emmy nominated Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize and many others.
David was the SRC President in 1990/1991 and was featured in the Wits Review of 2020 in the Hollywood section.
